My concluding thoughts are: that was underwhelming and also why is everyone not dead here. I mean, it's DEATH NOTE??? I was 100% ready for the entire cast to die. BUT NO. THEY DIDN'T. #disappointed Ahem, I mean wait. I'm totally a normal well adjusted bookworm who is happy certain people survived. Of course. Definitely. I am. No doubt.

But duuuuuuuude. IT WAS SO UNDERWHELMING. Light's massive breakdown was very emotionally done, so I LIKED THAT. But there were pages and pages and pages of Light and Near just talking. I mean, c'mon. We've come this far and now we're just having monologues of "Who Is the Smartest neener neener"??

Spoilers on who won --> (view spoiler)[ And like I knew Light had to die, but I thought he'd write his own name in the death note. You know?!? The final HURRAH YOU CAN'T CATCH ME. And I'm still kind of confused why he took so long to act. He was all like "I'm going to out wit them with my brilliance" but he could've just (A) shot Near on sight, and (B) had all his people and the SPRK people written in the death note already to die. Then coordinated Near's shooting with that and kaboom. Everyone dead. Kira god. The end. LIKE MAYBE LIGHT SHOULD'VE HIRED ME FOR HIS MANAGER???? (Just kidding. I swear. I'm a nice person. I just don't get why it had to be so much vanity over just a simple solution.)

And I mean, I should be happy that Near lived to go on to be L, but I seriously couldn't care less.

And what was the last few pages????????? LIKE WHAT??? I didn't even recognise it was Misa until I read another review that said it was. What the heck Misa?!? She was like leading a cult of Kira worshippers? But it felt pointless and random and I don't UNDERSTAND.

Also Plan #2 for Light was to be turned into a God of Death himself. Damn it. Why did all my plans fail? (hide spoiler)]

I mean, this was definitely a good conclusion in the art respect. The emotion and rage of Light's breakdown was epic in the art. BUT YEAH. I just...I mean, he really lost it when he started to lose. It was all VERY unlike Light. But I'll try to look past that. Ahem.

Also (view spoiler)[Mello's (hide spoiler)] death was hugely anti-climatic. And we're supposed to believe it was noble?! Like are we talking about the same guy of the last half-dozen manga volumes?!?

Unfortunately: I'm just glad I'm finished the series.
IT WAS GOOD AT THE BEGINNING; DON'T GET ME WRONG. Probably the first 5 or 6 volumes were some of the best books I've read of ever and I feel very fondly toward them. But they should've just ended back there. Or at least put in enough new plot that it wasn't going around in dull circles. I'm still a little fond of Light; despite him being seriously evil. Aaaand I do like the premise and plot of the series. BUT YEAH. WOAH THAT TOOK A LONG TIME TO READ. NOW TO NAP.

...and I want an apple.

Ebook Death Note, Tome #12 read Online! Tsugumi Ōba (Profile in Japanese: 大場 つぐみ), born in Tokyo, Japan, is a writer best known for the manga Death Note. His/her real identity is a closely guarded secret. As stated by the profile placed at the beginning of each Death Note manga, Ōba collects teacups and develops manga plots while holding his knees on a chair, similar to a habit of L, one of the main characters of the series.

There is speculation that Tsugumi Ōba is a pen name and that he is really Hiroshi Gamō. Pointing out that in Bakuman the main character's uncle was a one-hit wonder manga artist who worked on a gag super hero manga, very similar to Gamō and Tottemo! Luckyman in all aspects. Also that the storyboards drawn by Ōba greatly resemble Tottemo! Luckyman in style.
