Though haiku scholars may argue that these are not all traditional haiku nonetheless these poems are beautifully written and capture intimate moments of revelation and self reflection. Thus they are titled American haiku.
I liked the loving intimacy of the poems; many are very tender. They somehow reminded me of small postcards or tiny vignettes. Sharing a little bit of how the world is seen by her. The collection traverses the seasons of winter thru spring. And though the collection is a quick read it is a worthy addition to any poetry collection.
Highly recommended.
