In hopes of unlocking his full Soul Reaper powers, Ichigo continues his training by battling it out with the Fullbringers. Bleach, Volume 51: Love Me Bitterly Loth Me Sweetly begins with him taking on Jackie Tristan. Seeing Ichigo gain his confidence and powers back made me feel like a proud mama bear. It was fun to see him transform even though there was so much yelling from Jackie's end. And what is up with the Nazi theme?
(view spoiler)[First, Ichigo's Fullbring looks like a swastika and now Jackie looks like a cross between a Nazi and a biker chick.
During their training, something interesting happens with Ichigo's Deputy Soul Reaper badge. Its overpowering capability is reminiscent of his freaky Hollow days. I'm all for it possessing him if that's the case.
Meanwhile, Orihime and Chad look into the mystery of Tsukishima's special powers. His Fullbring is very intriguing and I almost get an Aizen-type of vibe from it. I get the sense that Tsukishima is about to seriously complicate things. He may be a bad guy, but he can't be all that bad if Shishigawara can sneeze on him, and he doesn't even get upset.
When Chad confronts Ginjô about Tsukishima's Fullbring powers, it seems Ginjô isn't being completely honest. There's just something about this guy that sets off my red flags. As Ginjô tries to explains things to Chad, Tsukishima bursts through the door just in time to see Ichigo's Fullbring take its true form.
It sure was good to see him in his shihakusho again!
Upon discovering that Tsukishima is the one responsible for stabbing his friends, Ichigo rushes in to attack Tsukishima. Unfortunately, Ichigo's Fullbring isn't completely developed and Ginjô must intercept to save him. It looks like Tsukishima will take both of them down until Fullbringer Yukio steps in with his super neat video game powers.
Yukio manages to convince Tsukishima to retreat to avoid the attention of the public. Ginjô snatches up this opportunity to train Ichigo to rush the recovery of his Soul Reaper powers. Chad brings in Orihime to help Ichigo heal while training. Rurika and Orihime's interaction is hilarious! I find them to be very similar, but Rurika is just feistier.
This made me laugh so hard:
I have to say, I really love seeing Kisuke and Isshin together. There is just something about those two funny guys with the hidden badass side doing something mysterious that makes me swoon. Just as I was getting over the heart palpitations from seeing my two favorite characters again, I notice this:
Who could this be?
It most definitely looks like the shihakusho of a Soul Reaper! Woohoo! *crossing fingers*
After seeing those images, I honestly didn't care what else happened in the book. In my excitement, I forgot what took place before and then I could barely focus on what came after. I am giddy and just itching to start the next volume.

Read information about the author久保 帯人, also transliterated Taito Kubo, or Jiu bao dai ren.
The son of a town council member in Fuchu, Aki District, Hiroshima. He never took drawing seriously until he was 17; after reading Dragon Ball he knew he wanted to be a manga artist. At the age of 18 he submitted his first concept for the series Zombiepowder but it got rejected. Zombiepowder was rejected multiple times until Kubo was 22, when it finally was accepted by Shonen Jump. It did not last long; it was cancelled after four volumes in late 2000.
His next series, Bleach, about a high school student who becomes a shinigami and fights hollows, was not such a failure. Bleach began regular publication in 2001. It has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump ever since.
